The Momentary

The Momentary

The Momentary is an adaptive reuse project designed by Wheeler Kearns Architects. The design intent was to transform what was once a Kraft Foods plant into a visual art exhibition space and performance venue for music, film and theatre. This reimagined facility will serve as an extension of the Crystal Bridges Museum of America Art and anchor for the up-and-coming downtown Bentonville Market District. GGI was commissioned by Tristar Glass to furnish the Alice® direct-to-glass printing to capture the artwork onto the glass to be incorporated in the main entrance and rooftop glazing. The artwork was created by the well-known Osage artist, Addie Roanhorse.

The glass artwork continues seamlessly from the main entrance to the rooftop. In addition to the solar control low-e insulating units fabricated by Tristar Glass, the ceramic frit paint utilized in the artwork will serve to increase shading and further improve the building's energy efficiency.
GGI’s Alice® direct-to-glass printing was applied to Pilkington OptiWhite® ultra-clear glass. The custom fabricated Alice® glass was then incorporated into multi-functional insulating glass units to achieve a unique aesthetic combined with safety glazing and solar control.
