SECAUCUS, N.J. — Oct. 8, 2026 — General Glass International (GGI) participated as a presenter, artist showcase supporter, and glass contest sponsor at CODAworx’s CODAsummit: Art, Technology and Place, held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. GGI has supported public art for more than a decade, and 2026 marked its fourth year as a CODAsummit sponsor.

CODAworx connects artists, commissioners, architects, fabricators and other professionals involved in commissioned art. Its annual CODAsummit explores how art, technology and collaboration can transform public spaces, with programming addressing commissioning, fabrication and creative placemaking.

“GGI has been more than a partner to CODAworx—they have been an advocate for artists and their creative potential,” said Toni Sikes, CEO of CODAworx. “For the past four years, they have sponsored the CODAsummit Artist Showcases, giving artists the opportunity to see their work beautifully reproduced and realized at an architectural scale on glass—opening doors to new possibilities and large-scale architectural art commissions.”

GGI’s presentation explored how architectural glass can translate artistic concepts into the built environment. Its Alice® direct-to-glass printing process uses ceramic inks. The design is then fused into the glass during tempering. Moreover, artists can customize artwork scale, combine layered imagery, and vary opacity within individual panels. Ideal for interior and exterior applications, designs are used for installations ranging from interior glass walls to expansive architectural facades. These capabilities invite artists and design teams to See What Glass Can Do®.

“Public art gives places identity and creates meaningful connections with the people who experience them,” said Stephen Balik, vice president of GGI. “Our support of CODAworx is about helping artists explore possibilities, connect with collaborators, and bring their vision into the built environment. We congratulate the winning artists and look forward to supporting more public art commissions throughout North America.”

GGI congratulates the three winners of its sponsored artist contest:

  • Anton Morton is an Oklahoma City-based public artist, creative principal of Kasum MANIFOLD and citizen of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. His practice brings together art, architectural integration and civic infrastructure to realize complex public installations.
  • Michael R. DiCarlo is an artist, designer, fabricator, consultant and educator whose practice bridges architecture and digital fabrication. His international work explores how art can enhance public spaces and people’s experiences within them.
  • Courtney Minor submitted “Dal Dal Flo.” An interdisciplinary artist working in Jersey City and New York City, Minor uses color, collage, assemblage, and photography to explore identity and amplify stories often overlooked by mainstream society.
